Ann Morrison Park

Ann Morrison Memorial Park was built in 1959 in honor of MK co-founder Harry W. Morrison’s beloved wife, Ann. Ann was known as “the First Lady of Construction,” traveling to project sites with her husband, and befriending and championing MK employees around the world. It was her kindness and generosity that resulted in forming the charitable organization known today as the Morrison Knudsen (MK) Foundation. When she passed away, Mr. Morrison, MK employees, and members of the community came together to create the park in her name. For more than 60 years, the 153-acre park along the Boise River has been an attraction for families throughout the Treasure Valley. In 2016, with feedback from the community, the City of Boise’s Parks and Recreation Department developed a master plan to renew and restore several areas of the park.

The MK Foundation is pleased to support the Ann Morrison Memorial Park restoration project by joining with Harry W. Morrison Foundation to fund upgrades to the fountain – the defining centerpiece of the park and an attraction for people of all ages. As the existing fountain is leaking and presents several safety issues, Parks and Recreation will construct a new, interactive fountain with two things in mind: fun and aesthetic appeal. While the design has yet to be finalized, it is anticipated that sixty-plus arcing jets will create a tunnel of water, under which people will be able to walk the length of the fountain. And kids will be able to safely play on a new, rubberized surface. Fun on hot day! Morrison Knudsen Foundation and Harry W. Morrison Foundation are proud to the fund the upgrades for random sequencing of the jets, colored LED lighting, and rubber surfacing.
